Rules and Regulations
1. Raffle tickets may not be sold to the family members, board members or their immediate relatives of The Carter Craft Foundation (“CCF”). They also should not be sold to key volunteers who are organizing the raffle. No minors will be allowed to buy a ticket. Must be 18 years old.
2. Tickets may only be sold in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Out of state residents can buy tickets if they are physically in Virginia at the time of purchase.
3. The maximum number of tickets sold will be 250.
4. All raffle tickets will have a detachable section; be consecutively numbered with the detachable section having the same number; provide space for the purchaser’s name, complete address and telephone number; and provide for the name and address of CCF, the prize to be awarded, the date, time and location of the prize drawing, and the selling price of the ticket. All such tickets shall be sequentially numbered.
5. If there are not enough tickets that have been sold to make a profit, one of two options exist:
a. postpone the drawing, or
b. hold the raffle drawing as planned knowing that CCF will lose money.
CCF will make the decision to continue the raffle upon its sole discretion.
6. Raffle tickets may be sold by any CCF volunteers. A CCF game coordinator (“Game Coordinator”) will be appointed and will keep a log of all tickets that they distribute, and they will reconcile those tickets with those that have been sold with those unsold and keep track of the money deposited throughout the raffle. Unsold tickets, winning stubs and non-winning stubs will all be collected by the Game Coordinator from the CCF volunteers. The money will be controlled by maintaining a ticket log of unsold tickets distributed and money and stubs turned back in.
7. The drawing location and date will be held at the Carter Craft Office located at 2101 Graves Mill Road, Forest, VA 24551. The drawing will be held on Jan 5, 2025 at 1pm.
8. The drawing process will be conducted by the Game Coordinator. The person drawing the ticket may not be the Game Coordinator, CCF employees or their immediate family members.
9. The first ticket drawn will be the winner. We will draw a second ticket in case the winner does not claim the prize (see Section 15). There will be a secondary alternate winner in case the winner does not redeem the prize for any reason.
10. Before the prize drawing, each stub or other detachable section of each ticket sold shall be placed into a receptacle from which the winning tickets shall be drawn. The receptacle will be designed so that each ticket placed in it has an equal chance to be drawn.
11. Prize will be valued at fair market value.
12. Tickets will be handled carefully so as to not lose or damage any.
13. The tickets will be sold by asking how many they want and multiplying that by the ticket price. The money will be collected by the purchaser giving cash, check or credit card to the seller for the ticket(s). Money will be deposited on a weekly basis (unless no sales were made).
14. All non-winning stubs, unsold tickets, and winning stubs will be kept at CCF office location.
15. Winner does not have to be present at the drawing. The prize will be distributed by calling the winner and asking them to come forward and redeem the prize. The prize must be claimed within twenty (20) business days of the drawing. If a winner has moved or does not want the prize, the alternate winner will be contacted based on the information on the second drawn ticket (see Section 9)
16. Inclement Weather: The drawing will occur regardless of weather.
17. Winner will be responsible for taxes, title and fees.
